Jewellers Rouge

Jewellers Rouge powder has a range of uses including polishing gold and silver, ageing techniques on frames and furniture and to act as a dry lubricant.

Some gilders dust a fine layer onto their gilders cushion surface to act as a release agent and to avoid leaf sticking and traditionally Jewellers Rouge was used as a dry lubricant in Gold Leaf booklets between the paper pages and gold leaves.
