Yellow Gilders Mecca

Yellow gilders mecca is a thin varnish traditionally used for tinting silver or aluminium leaf in order to give it the finish of gold leaf.

Manufactured from a traditional recipe dating back to Victorian times, it should be applied directly over the leaf with a soft hair brush, such as the da Vinci series 5076 or 5098 to give the best finish. Build up layers, allowing each layer to dry fully before applying the next, to reach the desired golden tone.
