Kolner MINIATUM

Kolner MINIATUM has been made specifically for gilding onto paper and flexible surfaces. There are 3 types available in 50ml bottles.

Clear - suitable for going over a coloured undercoat.

Yellow - traditional yellow gilders bole colour.

MINIATUM INK - Pink in colour so it can been seen on paper after application. Thin enough to be used through a pen, and for detail work with a fine brush but must be washed out thoroughly, immediately after use.

Application: apply a coat so that there is no pooling or excess sitting on the surface. Once applied it should reach a dry tack (similar to sellotape) before it can be gilded on. The size will remain "open" and take leaf for a short time before it is fully dry. Allow as long as possible for the size to "cure" before handling the gilded item.

Please note the drying time will depend on the surrounding conditions. If it's cold, it will take longer to reach a dry tack and then fully dry. If its hot, it may dry quicker and not remain "open" as long as desired.
