Gilders Cushion

Our handmade Gilders Cushions (sometimes known as a gilders pad) feature a quality birch plywood base covered in rough goat skin leather (suede side up) that is cushioned by 3 layers of felt underneath. The handle and features on the base are made from the same leather, all fixed into place with ribbon and traditional brass tacks. 

They are available with parchment, old parchment deed, paper (pergamenta) or no windshield, in right or left handed. 

The gilders cushion kit is a ready made cushion base with your choice of windshield but, the leather handle and knife straps come separate, ready for you to tack on yourself in your preferred location on the base.

Size: 15 x 23cm / approximately 6 x 9" 

Please note if choosing a old parchment deed windshield, they will vary as we carefully cut and use original hand written deeds to form the windshield.

Please choose whether you are RIGHT OR LEFT HANDED.

For example, Right Handed Cushion - the cushion is held in your left hand and the gold leaf is cut with the knife in your right hand.
